It’s that time again! You get that new batch of students and suddenly realize with horror that many of them have never used a pair of scissors, or worse, they’ve developed bad habits when using their scissors! (nothing like watching a kid contort their entire body, twist their arm upside down, while using two hands to destroy a lovely activity you have prepared for them). 😂

I started using this little poster/poem to help my students sing and recall how to hold their scissors properly. I’ve noticed a significant difference since I’ve incorporated it in my classroom!

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the huge smile that spreads across their face when they cut something for the first time and realize “I did it!”
