Open House 2017!

 Open House!
Open House was this past week, and boy oh boy was it busy! I kind of thought I was going to lose my mind there for a bit, but it finally all came together and the kids were so excited to show their families all of their hard work.
I had to come in a few weekends to get everything up, but it turned out to be super cute. I’ll admit I got a little carried away with the signs, and the kids can’t even read them so it was mostly for my own humor hehe.  Our theme was farm and garden and we made a ton of crafts, starting in April 😲
Cows, chickens, pigs, sheep, vegetables, butterflies, sunflowers, and ladybugs to name a few. We also had the kids choose one animal to give a “speech bubble” to and they got to choose what they wanted their animal to say. My personal favorite was for one student’s hen that said,
“I give eggs to the people!” 😂

Here are a few pictures of our classroom farm!

We spent a week on “Tops and Bottoms” where we read the story, did a few activities, and then ended with a taste test of seeing if we liked “tops or bottoms” better. The kids tried carrots, lettuce, radishes, beets, broccoli, and celery. Then we ended with this adorable craftivity.

The cows were a glyph from Deanna Jump, and at the end the kiddos got to do a taste test to see what their favorite kind of milk was.
Yellow Bell= White milk was their favorite
Purple Bell = Chocolate milk was their favorite
Red Bell = Strawberry milk was their favorite.
Notice how there’s only one yellow bell?
Interesting, isn’t it? 😉
Now that Open House is over, I plan on taking a VERY long nap lol!
Later Gators!
